1. Give the sander a good overall cleaning weekly so your new machine operates properly for many years to come.
2. The most obvious “Make sure you use the sander appropriately”.
3. Have the right sanding belt for the job. If you don’t have the right belt the outcome may not be what you wanted.  Below is a short of different types of belts:
   1. Aluminum Oxide: great for most material applications.
   2. Silicon Carbide: great for various materials such as plastic, glass, wood, cast iron and much more
   3. Zirconia: designed for course to medium grit applications on metal.

5. If you sander is a wet belt sander make sure you use coolant with a rust inhibitor in it.  If you use straight water your machine will rust and isn’t covered under warranty.
6. Clean the coolant tank on a regular basis so the slurry wont get sucked up into the pump and burn the pump up.
7. Whether the sander is wet or dry clean your belt sander on a weekly basis.
