Making the abrasive cutoff saw work for you, abrasive cutoff saw work, abrasive cutoff saw, horse power to cut, abrasive wheel

Making the abrasive cutoff saw work for you is the key to getting the right cut that you require you will have to follow a few procedures:

  1. Start with the application.
    1. Type of material, size, shape, solid and hollow (tube).
  2. Focus on the abrasive wheel.
    1. Each material will preform differently so you you will have play around with many different types of wheels until you find the right wheel.
  3. Other factors such as season operator to a greenhorn, wheel grades, RPMS at the saw spindle and material hardness.
  4. Coolant and controlled downfeed combo.  When completing a metallurgical cut you want flood coolant and air/oil down feed combo.  In some circumstances oscillation (the head of the saw rocks back and forth
  5. Finally picking the right horse power and wheel speed.  Are you or will you be cutting wet and or dry.  You will have to go back to your application this is the foundation.  Some material will need more horse power to cut through than other material.  If your cutting 4″ solid inconel bars vs. 4″ solid carbon steel.  The inconel is going to need more horse power to cut than the carbon steel.
